Open call for art and stories

For the exhibition Aon ’t Hart Gelege (November 2026 – September 2027), Maastricht Museum is looking for artworks and personal stories from people who feel connected to Maastricht.

Which place in Maastricht is close to your heart? An iconic spot in the historic city centre, a hidden gem in one of its neighbourhoods, or a personal memory linked to the city? Alongside an exhibition on Maastricht painting from the last century, we want to showcase images and stories that reflect Maastricht today.

We welcome photographs, paintings, drawings, poems, and other creative submissions that show what Maastricht means to you.

Everyone aged 8 and older can participate, whether you have lived here all your life or are just getting to know the city.

Your work in the museum? 🎨

Before 10 August 2026, send an email to publieksservice@maastricht.nl including:

• your name and age
• a photograph of your artwork (original size maximum 20 x 30 cm)
• a title
• a short description or story (maximum 150 words)

A selection of submissions will be included in the exhibition.
Your work could be on display at Maastricht Museum from November 2026 onwards!
