Bekijk én bewonder tussen 23 juni en 27 september een selectie uit de allerbeste Europese politieke cartoons van 2025 bij Centre Céramique in Maastricht. Een viering van moed, kwaliteit én vrijheid van meningsuiting in de politieke cartoonkunst.
De prenten waren allemaal genomineerd voor de European Cartoon Award, georganiseerd door Studio Europa Maastricht.
De expositie is gratis te bezichtigen op de derde etage en voor iedereen toegankelijk tijdens de reguliere openingstijden.
Leer zelf cartoons tekenen tijdens een speciale workshop
Kom op 11 juli om 14.00 uur naar Centre Céramique voor een praktische kennismaking met de wereld van de politieke cartoons, onder leiding van de bekende cartoonist Maarten Wolterink (Vrij Nederland).
Maarten neemt je mee achter de schermen van zijn creatieve proces en laat zien hoe ideeën uitgroeien tot krachtige visuele verhalen.
Aan de hand van toegankelijke tekenoefeningen leer je hoe je je eigen cartoonconcepten kunt ontwikkelen en uitwerken. Maar eerst zal hij je een korte rondleiding door de cartoonexpo geven.

From June 23 to Sept. 27, discover and admire a selection of the very best European political cartoons of 2025 at Centre Céramique in Maastricht. A celebration of courage, quality, and freedom of expression in the art of political cartooning.
All featured works were nominated for the European Cartoon Award, organized by Studio Europa Maastricht.
The exhibition is free to visit on the third floor and is open to everyone during regular opening hours.
Learn to draw cartoons yourself during a special workshop
Join us on July 11 at 2:00 PM at Centre Céramique for a hands-on introduction to the world of political cartoons, led by renowned cartoonist Maarten Wolterink (Vrij Nederland).
Maarten will take you behind the scenes of his creative process and show how ideas develop into powerful visual stories.
Through accessible drawing exercises, you will learn how to create and develop your own cartoon concepts. The session begins with a short guided tour of the exhibition.
